When you were the pre-flop aggressor, you should continuation bet (c-bet) frequently on flops that favour your range. A dry flop like K-7-2 rainbow is good for c-betting when you raised pre-flop. A wet, connected flop like J-T-9 suited is trickier — check more often here and protect your checking range. Bet sizing matters: 25–40% of pot on single-raiser pots is typical for low-to-mid stakes 33xx tables.
At 33xx lower-stakes games, over-bluffing is one of the most common and expensive mistakes. Bluff when you have backup equity — a straight draw, a flush draw, an overcard. Semi-bluffing (betting a drawing hand) is far more profitable than pure air bluffs because you win two ways: your opponent folds, or you hit your draw. Pure bluffs on the river should be used sparingly and against opponents who have shown they can fold.
A general rule for cash games: keep at least 20–30 buy-ins for your chosen stake level in your poker account.
